The Littlest FireFighter...

 The Littlest FireFighter
-Author Unkown-

The 26-year-old mother stared down at her son who was dying of terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination.

Like any parent she wanted her son to grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible. The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?"

"Mommy, I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up."

Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come true." Later that day she went to her local fire department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix.

She explained her son's final wish and asked if it might be possible to give her six-year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine.

Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honorary fireman for the whole day.
He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards!
"And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy one - with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots. They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast."

Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his fire uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station.

He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in the different fire engines, the paramedic's van and even the fire chief's car. He was also video taped for the local news program.

Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible.

One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital.

Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a fireman, so she called the fire chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition.

The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the PA system that there is not a fire?"

It's just the fire department coming to see one of it's finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room? Thanks."

About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital, extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window and 16 firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him.

With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, "Chief, am I really a fireman now?"

"Billy, you are," the chief said.

With those words, Billy smiled and closed his eyes one last time.

California bans cell-phone use for teen drivers

Yeah get a look at this, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?!?!?!?!?

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A message from the state of California to its 16- and 17-year-olds: Dnt txt n drv — thx.

A law signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday will require those teens to put down all cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Older drivers will be able to use hands-free devices but minors won’t enjoy that luxury — in part because of the popularity of text-messaging among teens.

“The simple fact is that teenage drivers are more easily distracted. They are young, inexperienced and have a slower reaction time,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement after he signed the legislation into law. “We want to eliminate any extra distractions so they can focus on paying attention to the road and being good drivers.”

The law barring cell phone use by drivers under 18 will take effect July 1, as will the law restricting cell phone use among older drivers, which the governor signed last year.

Violators will be fined $20 for the first offense and $50 for subsequent offenses. Both laws include exceptions for drivers who need to make emergency calls.

Schwarzenegger’s signature means California joins 15 states and the District of Columbia in banning the use of wireless communication devices for teenage drivers. Nearly a dozen other states are considering similar action, according to the American Automobile Association.

The governor cited statistics by the California Highway Patrol that cell phone use is a primary cause of accidents caused by distracted drivers. He also referred to a Ford Motor Co. study saying teens are four times more likely to be distracted than adults by cell phone use.

A 2001 report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that 16-year-old drivers have a crash rate three times higher than that of 17-year-olds, five times greater than 18-year-olds and almost 10 times greater than drivers ages 30-59.

A Few little things...
So some little things....

Things here have been going pretty good! Money ETC.....Seems like here in the next month or two, i'll be taking my class for my EMS! YES!!

As of Sat Morning, My Closest Friend "One of my Sisters" Left for DC with her Hubby! Soooo..have said this, there's a good chance within the next 2 years we'll be going out to where they are....Once matt's done with school, there's a GOOD chance that he can get a really good job out there...So Keeping fingers crossed! I think it would be awsome to live somewhere new. They made it out there...and safley

Work is going alright, Instead of me quiting my job for right now, i've decided to stay there....and i changed my hrs, to where i'm only working 3hrs a day. Which helps a lot cause with matt working full time, and going to school full time, the hrs i'll be working, works great! I know why do you ask "Why Bother" i like the people i work with, and it gets me out of the house, and able to talk to other people. IT's not a bad job, just can get a little overwheliming, but what job dosen't....I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the position over at the base, I know gov. jobs take a little while, so i'm being patient!

Other than that, nothing to much is going on. Just living life, and taking care of the family!

Maddie's Party, and Life..
So..tonight was maddie's birthday party. Wow, hard to believe she's now 2. Where dose the time go. We had a little party at mom's house tonight, we had cake, icecream, Dinner etc...All the above. It was fun. The theme we had for her was heffalump and friends (Winnie the Pooh). The cake was very cute!...We showed maddie a couple different pictures, and that's the one she had choosen.
As for her gifts she recieved, she got lots of coloring books, *She loves to color*, clothes, a DVD with a little animal, a little purple stuff puppie, and the biggest thing, A KITCHEN!
She loved everything she got, she colored, played, and COOKED! lol... It was great!

After we left mom's which was around 11pm or so, came home, got her ready for bed, and no sooner did her poor little head hit the pillow, she passed out lol. I had falled asleep with her in her bed..*No remember she has a little toddler bed* and boy oh boy did i wake up sore lol. But she loves that "Mommie come rub my head thing" lol...Something i've always done with her sence she was really little. But becuae i went and layed down with her, that's my fault i woke up sore hahaha!!!

oh well....the things you do for your kids....Speaking of things for your kids, OMG got to tell you all this......the day before her birthday, which i guess was thurs, yah thurs...So mom, maddie, and i go to Toys R Us..right, well after we went for what we needed etc..the manajor of the store came to help us with what we needed, and we were talking about her birthday, so the guy comes back, and gives her this gift card thing, that helped get her kitchen, so..then we go up to the counter to check-out...and she get's a balloon, and hat. After all was said and done, we got out and get in the van, Well as i'm putting maddie into her carseat, mom opens the driver side of the door, and maddie's balloon takes off down the street. So maddie started crying cause she liked that balloon, mostly becusae i think becuse there were somethings attached to it heh..that she could keep and eat lol. So she's crying and i said lets go get it...so we drive and i was like i see it! stop...So as i get out of the van to get it, the damn wind starts carrying it away, i was like shit.lol....I ended up going behind i think "Target" it might have been, not sure what store, but i run after this damn balloon...and i finalley get it. I'm like "you stupid ass balloon"

Thank god though no one saw me do this lol..and if they did, i didn't notice it haha..So i get back to the van and mom's like things you do for your child, and maddie's like clapping and say mommie, mommie, i was like omg! lol...and let say, i'm so out of shape haha! Sence my surgery etc..and after running WOW..i need to get back into shape lol...So yeah i made the day with a damn balloon lol..I'll never forget her second birthday lol.!

All 'N' All everything went great! Now just tired lol...

Well off to sleepyland i go.

Hugs to all

Life, how amazing it can be!

Today i woke up around 230 this morning, and just couldn't go back to sleep. I also woke up to a bad headache, and nose bleed. GREAT! there all starting back up again, which is great! I've been doing everything i'm suppose to...running a humidafirem, and using sailiane drops..But we'll see how this lasts, hopefully it'll go away. I was enjoying now having them there for a while! I was excited!! but now of course they've had to start again. (GRR)

The past couple of weeks i've just been really tired, or i've been waking up and not being able to go back to sleep.
I'm thinking sence i had my surgery, it threw everything off, for the simple fact they gave me some "GOOD" Meds, heh, and then all i did for the first couple of days was just sleep....And every sence then, i've just been thrown off.

The other fact i think that's playing more into it is, this lovly thing called "Low Iron" I've always had problems with my iron levels, going way back to when i started Jr.High. I'm taking a complete suplament, and now i'm taking a lower dose of iron pill. I'm suppose to be going to the dr this week for a TB test for my job, So i'll have em check my iron and see what's going on.

Last night i got the rest of my stuff i needed for my job, and next week i'll be able to go down and apply, I have to wait til next week cause of this stupid TB test i have to do AGAIN......It's not bad, i just hate going. I thought i could use the one from my EMT' Class, but becuse it's almost been a year, they would like for me to do another one. Oh well....i'll have to do it eventually anyhow...so miles well get it done and over with heh!

Heh, Thinking about last night, We're doing this potty traning thing with maddie, we've been doing it for quit some time now. She's doing very well i must say, for not being 2 and starting early. She went to go potty last night, and she just couldn't go for the life of her, she sat there for a little bit, and i asked her i said "Did you go potty" Maddie "Yes mommie", i looked and she did.....then she went to get her "Big girl Underwear" on and oppps.... she wasnt quit done. I was like maddie! She looked at me and started to cry, i said "it's ok, accidents happen" she stoped crying and gave me a hug. I was like aww, and asked her if she liked to take bath, and she jumped at that, meaning she loves baths! you say "WANT A BATH" and zoooom there she gose heh! But we're alomst there with her being fully potty trained.

well guess that's it for now. Hugs to all of you.

Hi Everyone,
I have a friend who needs some help. Here is her post:

Some of you already know, but I signed a 12 month lease with my boyfriend in October and he suddenly left me. There is no way at all to get out of the lease and unfortunately, I don't really have any way to pay the rent. The rent is $450 a month, and the apartment is fully furnished. It is located off of Broad St. in Fairborn and it is a 1 bedroom apartment. It has washer/dryer, couch, end tables, coffee tables, lamps, ceiling fans, carpeting, a/c wall unit, 2 dresser, queen size bed, microwave, chair, kitchen table and four chairs. I can provide more information on request. If you know anyone at all who might be interested in taking over the lease for the next 10 months, please let know. My number is 937-657-2857.

R.I.P My baby sydney

Today of all days, Thaksgiving...
I had to put sydney down, My cat. this morning

around 3:00 Am i head this cry, and i went to go see what was wrong with her and saw that she was limping and falling over. Also tha she wasnt eating etc..Well i took her out to the vet, and they told me she had a stroke. So i had to do the hardest thing ever...was to put her down. Something that i'm at peace with is that i know she lived a long  and healthy life, and the she was very much loved. This was one of the hardest things i think i've ever had to do in my life. Sydney was my buddy, and she'll never be forgotten.

She was 16 years old.

7 kinds of SEX
7 kinds of sex

Recent research shows that there are 7 kinds of sex:

The 1st kind of sex is called: Smurf Sex. This kind of sex happens when you first meet someone and you both have sex until you are blue in the face.

The 2nd kind of sex is called Kitchen. This is when you have been with your partner for a short time and you are so horny you will have sex anywhere, even in the Kitchen.

The 3rd kind of sex is called: Bedroom Sex. This is when you have been with your partner for a long time. Your sex has gotten routine and you usually have sex "only" in you r Bedroom.

The 4th kind of sex is called: Hallway Sex. This is when you have been with your partner for too long. When you pass each other in the Hallway you both say "screw you." (I have a friend that does this once in a while)

The 5th kind of sex is called: Religious Sex, which means you get Nun in the morning, Nun in the afternoon and Nun at night.

The 6th kind is called Courtroom Sex. This is when you cannot stand your wife/husband anymore. He/She takes you to Court and you get screwed in front of everyone.

And last, but not least, the 7th kind of sex is called: Social Security Sex........You get a little each month but not enough to live on.

Why Couples Don't Have Sex...

During the past year I have tried to make love to you 365 times.
I have succeeded 36 times, which is an average of once every ten days.
The following is a list of why I did not succeed more often:

54 times the sheets were clean
17 times it was too late
49 times you were too tired
20 times it was too hot
15 times you pretended to be sleep
22 times you had a headache
17 times you were afraid of waking the baby
16 times you said you were too sore
12 times it was the wrong time of the month
19 times you had to get up early
9 times you said weren't in the mood
7 times you were sunburned
6 times you were watching the late show
5 times you didn't want to mess up your new hairdo
3 times you said the neighbors would hear us
9 times you said your mother would hear us

Of the 36 times I did succeed, the activity was not satisfactory because:

6 times you just laid there
8 times you reminded me there's a crack in the ceiling
4 times you told me to hurry up and get it over with
7 times I had to wake you and tell you I finished
1 time I was afraid I had hurt you because I felt you move

I think you have things a little confused. Here are the reasons you didn't get more than you did:

5 times you came home drunk and tried to screw the cat
36 times you did not come home at all
21 times you didn't come with energy
33 times you came too soon
19 times you went soft before you got in
38 times you worked too late
10 times you got cramps in your toes
29 times you had to get up early to play golf
2 times you were in a fight and someone kicked you in the balls
4 times you got it stuck in your zipper
3 times you had a cold and your nose was running
2 times you had a splinter in your finger
20 times you lost the motion after thinking about it all day
6 times you came in your pajamas while reading a dirty book
98 times you were too busy watching TV

Of the times we did get together:

The reason I laid still was because you missed and were screwing the sheets.

I wasn't talking about the crack in the ceiling, what I said was, "Would you prefer me on my back or kneeling?"

The time you felt me move was because you farted and I was trying to breathe.

Once you read this letter you have to keep it going.

This game has been played since 1996.

So here are the rules:

If you read this on a Sunday, wish for a good week
If you read this on a Monday, wish for money
If you read this on a Tuesday, wish for love
If you read this on a Wednesday, wish for success
If you read this on a Thursday, wish for anything you want
If you read this on a Friday, wish for a really hot date
If you read this on a Saturday, wish for an important phone call
